It might sound crazy, but making Homemade Lemonade can be fun if you do it right. Plus, the taste is so much better than anything out of a package. 

Even though some bottled lemonade brands are tasty, you can completely control the taste to make your lemonade taste exactly how you like when you make your own.

Whether you want to squeeze extra lemons to make your drink more tart and “lemony,” or you want to add extra sugar for a kick, or even spice it up-literally-just one nice thing about making homemade lemonade is that you can easily ensure the drink tastes exactly how you want it to.

Simple Homemade Lemonade Recipe

Supplies:

2 1-2+ Gallon Pitchers (or a separate juicer and 1 pitcher)

Juicer (if you own 1, but this can be made by simply rolling the lemons against a hard surface and cutting them in half before squeezing the juice out…ideally using a strainer to catch seeds)

Knife and Cutting Board For Cutting Lemons

Ice Tray/Ice Dispenser

Ingredients:

24 Fresh Lemons

3/4 Gallon Water (Your choice-tap, bottled, whatever you like)

1 Cup of Pure Cane Sugar

1/4 Cup Ice Cubes

Instructions:

After you have washed and sliced your lemons in half to prepare them for juicing, the 1st thing you must do is “juice” 23 of your lemons individually into a separate container.

2nd, fill the pitcher you will use as your drink pitcher with 3/4 Gallon of Water.

3rd, cut your last lemon whole into thin circular slices (approximately 1-2 dozen) and drop these lemon slices into your drink container with water.

4th, pour your freshly squeezed lemon juice into the drink container with water and lemon slices and mix thoroughly.

5th, add your 1 cup of pure cane sugar to your homemade lemonade mixture and mix everything again very well.

6th and last step, add your 1/4 cup ice cubes to your homemade lemonade, stir once more, and then the beverage will be ready to drink once it has cooled to a temperature you will enjoy!

PRO TIP-You can add more lemons if you want a stronger and more “lemony” beverage, and you can also adjust the sugar ratio accordingly based on how sweet you like your lemonade, plus add more water and/or ice if you want to tone down the lemon tartness without adding sugar or reducing the number of lemons.

Easy Guacamole Recipe On Avocado Day

(In Honor of National Avocado Day, 2018)!

Alright, Fantaskey Community. You already know that July 31st, 2018, is significant because it’s the last day of July if it’s not significant for any other reason.

However, if you happen to have a thing for Avocados, then you probably should be aware that July 31st is National Avocado Day! (Let’s be real, billions of people love avocados nowadays…so you probably might like them also and you probably need to know about this Food Holiday).

Of course, you can technically have a guacamole that is straight avocados, so we won’t tell you this is THE simplest recipe out there…but it’s pretty simple. And, we hope you’re using this recipe year round and not just on National Avocado Day, so don’t forget to hang on to this (or just keep coming back to our site when you need it 😉 ).

So, without further delay, see below for a very EASY, FREE Recipe for some Tasty Guacamole! Use this recipe the next time you have to bring a dish to any occasion and you’ll have your friends saying, “WOW!”

 

Ingredients:

1-2 Ripe Avocados (just depending on the amount you want to make)

1 Ripe Tomato (the choice is yours, but Roma is often a decent choice)

1 Lime

Garlic Salt

Salt

Pepper

Tools:

(OPTIONAL: Mortar & Pestle)

Otherwise, a FORK and ANY Sturdy BOWL will suffice

Instructions: 

After your produce is washed….

  1. Peel & Pit your Avocado
  2. Place Avocado in Bowl & Smash to Desired Consistency with FORK
  3. Slice Desired Amount of Tomato and GENTLY Stir Into Avocado (adjust with more or less tomato, or NONE at all, depending on your preferences)
  4. Slice Lime Into Quarters and Squeeze 1/4 of the Lime Into Guacamole, if desired (for taste and to slow down the browning effect)
  5. Add Garlic Salt, Pepper and Salt to taste (if desired)
  6. Give one last, GENTLE Stir to combine everything thoroughyl

VOILA! YOU JUST MADE A GREAT GUACAMOLE, in a matter of MINUTES!

Blueberry Orange Vegan Vitamix Smoothie Recipe

Vegan, Gluten Free Blueberry & Orange Smoothie Recipe!

Hey there, Fantaskey Community!

We hope that you are having a fantastic day, no matter when you are reading this. You know one thing that will surely make your day a bit better? If you take a few minutes to do something that seems easy, but this easy activity can still have a big impact on your well being. In this case, the easy activity we are referring to is grabbing (or rather, making) something quick, healthy and refreshing! You know what drink is quick, healthy and refreshing? A Fruit SMOOTHIE!

We present you with our extremely easy recipe for a Vegan/Gluten Free Blueberry, Orange & Almond Milk Smoothie! (FYI: This is a portion for 1 person or 2 smaller glasses, so just increase quantities if you want to make this for more than 1-2 people.

Ingredients:

Organic Blueberries (3-4 Handfuls)

1 Organic Orange

Almond Milk

7-10 Ice Cubes

Tools:

1 Blender (in this case, we’re using a Vitamix)

Instructions:

It’s almost too easy….

  1. Put your Blueberries and your peeled Orange into the blender (be sure to take out the seeds, if applicable)
  2. Cover about halfway to 3/4 of the fruit with Almond Milk
  3. Throw your ice cubes into the blender
  4. Cover blender, turn it on and blend your smoothie to your desired consistency.
  5. Voila! It’s that simple… you just made a great Smoothie, so go ahead and Drink It ASAP! 🙂

Recipe For Gluten Free Cinnamon Roll Cake With Bacon And Blueberries

GLUTEN FREE CINNAMON ROLL CAKE WITH BACON AND BLUEBERRIES

You can appreciate the finer things in life, right? OF COURSE YOU CAN! After all, you wouldn’t be here on Fantaskey if you didn’t love the best things life has to offer.

SO, do sweet treats ever come to your mind when you’re thinking of some of the best things in life? Okay, and we don’t want to put words in your mouth at all about bacon…but you like bacon as well, don’t you? The curve ball in all of this is, of course, blueberries. While we know blueberries are absolutely great for us, we don’t often think of blueberries when thinking of indulgences. However, in this instance, blueberries are the perfect complement to the salty, savory bacon and the sweet, dense cake.

Alright, well check out the below recipe if you want an amazingly tasty cake that’s easy to bake. If you like cinnamon rolls, cake and bacon, then you will love this dessert (and just trust us on the blueberries). Of course, you don’t have to make this cake Gluten Free, however you will have to play with the ratios to find what works for you because it could differ slightly if you aren’t using the Rice Flour like we used here.

Without further delay, see below for an easy recipe for Gluten Free Cinnamon Roll Cake With Bacon And Blueberries: 

Ingredients:

3 Cups Brown Rice Flour

2 1/2 Cups Almond Milk

1 Tbsp Baking Powder

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Cup Pure Cane Sugar

1/2 Cup Ground Cinnamon

1 Tsp Salt

2 Eggs

1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar

Oil or Cooking Spray (for baking sheet so the cake won’t stick)

6 Strips Bacon

1 Cup Blueberries

Tools:

Large Bowl (preferably non-stick metal or glass)

2 Smaller Bowls

Measuring Cups/Spoons

Mixing Bowl or Whisk (obviously a whisk will be more work than a mixer)

Baking Pan

Instructions:

  • First, mix your Sugar and Cinnamon together in the smaller bowl and keep this separate.
  • Second, mix all other dry ingredients together in your larger bowl…then, sprinkle about 1/4 of your Cinnamon/Sugar mixture into the dry ingredient bowl and mix again.
  • Third, now pour your 2 Cups of your Almond Milk and Crack Your Eggs into the larger bowl as well.
  • NOW, combine the whole mixture thoroughly and let it sit for a few minutes. Your batter should be thicker than pancake batter, but not quite as thick as a normal cinnamon roll dough.
  • Cover your Baking Pan with your Oil/Cooking spray and then pour your mixture into the pan.
  • After your cake batter is in the pan, add roughly 2/3 of what’s remaining of your Cinnamon/Sugar mixture-in 3 separate sequences-and mix the batter and cinnamon sugar mixture thoroughly each time (in swirl patterns :)) before adding more. (Keep some cinnamon sugar for after your cake is baked)
  • Your Cake is READY TO BAKE.
  • Put it in at 400 Degrees for approximately 30-35 minutes (or until you can pull a toothpick out without raw batter…like with a traditional cake).
  • (While your cake is baking, cook your bacon and wash some blueberries. ALSO, add 1/2 cup powdered sugar & 1/2 cup almond milk to your 2nd smaller bowl. Also, add 1/2 of what’s left of your cinnamon sugar; keeping half for after. MIX your Icing mixture up thoroughly and refrigerate for 5-10 minutes. When ready to serve, mix it up again and feel free to add a bit more liquid if it has hardened up too much).
  • ONCE YOUR CAKE IS DONE BAKING, you can let it sit for 10 minutes. Now, drizzle 1/2 of your icing on-pour the rest of your cinnamon sugar mixture on-then drizzle the rest of your icing on and then place a piece of bacon on each piece, plus drop some tasty blueberries on the plate.

VOILA! You have made a simple, amazingly tasty treat that you would be lucky to find a match to at any gourmet restaurant or bakery. But, you just did this in your own house! 🙂 WOW!

Recipe For An Easy, Gourmet Wedge Salad

If you’re already a great cook, then you know how it feels to serve some of your carefully prepared culinary creations to your adoring guests (whether at home or in your restaurant).

For the rest of us, cooking is just one of THOSE things. You probably don’t despise it, but you probably don’t love it either. Usually, if you like to eat amazingly prepared food from real chefs who know what they’re doing, you have to eat out at restaurants most of the time so that you can sample life’s culinary pleasures to the fullest extent-as you SHOULD be able to!

But, anyway, don’t you have those times in life where you want to look like a gourmet chef, when you know that’s not quite the reality?

If you’re aiming to make this for only a few bucks, you certainly can if you grab the more economically priced ingredients OR if you’re wanting to recreate that true gourmet quality @ home, like you’d get in a restaurant (or better than some), then spring for the higher end cheeses, meats and the best veggies, peppers and oils you can get your hands on.

Recipe of The Day: Easy, Gourmet Wedge Salad

Note: You have options on when you cook your Bacon here, so we will NOT be including how to do that in the instructions (we’re pretty sure you’re already familiar with how to cook and drain bacon)! 🙂 However, add your Bacon to each Salad BEFORE you place them in the fridge to cool IF you want your bacon cold as well. If you would prefer to serve each Salad with the Bacon still warm (which is how we prefer it) then you will want to wait to start cooking your bacon until AFTER you have let each Salad chill for approximately 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Head of Iceberg Lettuce (Serves up to 4, or make it serve 2 and turn it into a whole meal)
  • 15-20 Cherry or Grape Tomatoes (you’ll split it between the 4 salads, so you can certainly adjust and add more or less depending on how much you and your guests enjoy tomatoes)
  • Blue Cheese Dressing (you could get real ambitious and make your own dressing, but that’s a whole different recipe altogether)
  • Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • Bacon (adjust the amount according to how much you like, but we’d recommend at least 4-6 pieces….but we like Bacon, A LOT!)
  • Salt & Pepper (preferably freshly cracked if you have it readily available, but anything is just fine) 🙂
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil and/or Balsamic Vinegar (Optional)

Tools:

  • Any Sharp Knife will be fine (don’t worry about the myth that you need to use a plastic knife to cut lettuce to prevent it from browning; it’s technically true that it will turn brown where it was cut after a long time, but you’re going to be eating these shortly after you make any cuts, so you will be just fine)
  • Cutting Board
  • Serving Plates

Instructions:

  • First, wash your Lettuce and Tomatoes thoroughly
  • Cut the Lettuce into even WEDGES (hence WEDGE SALAD) and discard the core
  • Slice Tomatoes into either 1/2 or 1/4 size pieces IF you want them cut (up to you)
  • Place each Lettuce Wedge on its Serving Plate so that you can easily build each Salad individually
  • Pour your desired amount of Blue Cheese onto each Wedge (this will help bind everything else to the Wedge better)
  • Place Tomatoes onto ea. Wedge (they’ll overflow like ours if you do enough, but that’s the point!)
  • Place generous amounts of Blue Cheese Crumbles on top
  • NOW HERE is where you either will have your bacon already cooked and you add it on top as well, OR you will just put everything in your fridge now to chill for about 10 minutes before you start cooking your bacon. You need the Salad to get nice and cold before you can put the bacon on there, so feel free to wait a few more minutes if you feel inclined to do so. 
  • IF you are serving your bacon warm, NOW is the time to get started to put it on….after your salads are good and cold
  • Sprinkle just a tiny pinch of Salt (if you like) and Crack Fresh Black Pepper on Top
  • NOW, bacon on top if not already there
  • Here is where you can add a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil if you want a little more richness and decadence added to the dish, and/or you can add Balsamic Vinegar if you want to create a complexity and give a bit of that vinegary bite.
  • AND………..

Sit back in amazement at what you just created, all with little to no effort and for a price that fits your budget!

Even if your friends watch you make this one, they might still just not believe that you did it all by yourself!

Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapenos: An Easy, Cheap and Tasty Appetizer

Don’t you just love when you find things you can easily cook at home, especially when they take zero cooking skills?

Sure, you’re probably thinking that there are loads of things you can cook that don’t take much skill to make…it’s just that most of those things either don’t have that satisfying taste you crave, or the ones that do taste good are so loaded with salt, preservatives and other scary ingredients that you figure you might as well just grab some takeout instead and save the hassle of cooking.

One beautiful thing about the combination of Jalapeno and Peanut Butter is that you can buy large quantities and still typically only spend a few dollars.

Second, anything with Peanut Butter is all the right types of indulgent in our book!

Take this as your next appetizer to any potluck and you’ll probably have everybody asking how you thought of it.

If you’ve never had the combination of Peanut Butter and Jalapeno before, you’re probably thinking that this dish SOUNDS strange. Not to fear, because we almost can guarantee your taste buds will thank you when you give this simple appetizer a try.

This decadent combination of spicy and savory, salty and sweet, makes for an unforgettable combination that you’ll want to make again and again. But don’t just take our word for it, check out below how easy this really is to make and you can make it for yourself today!

It’s hard to pick a best part, but remember that you will only have a few minutes of total prep time. The longest part of this process is just letting these babies cook to perfection before you dig in!

Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapenos:

Ingredients:

Fresh, whole Jalapenos (cook as many as you want because the recipe is the same no matter the number you choose to cook, from 3 to 30, etc.)

Peanut Butter (use your favorite kind; crunchy obviously provides a little more texture, but creamy is what we traditionally use)

¼ Cup Water (or just enough to create some steam)

Tools:

Any sharp knife will do, but a Paring Knife is ideal

Glass Baking Dish

Instructions:

Wash your fresh Jalapenos

Slice a slit length-wise down the entire Jalapeno; repeat this for each pepper.

Scoop out all seeds with a spoon, discard the seeds, and rinse the pepper once more (unless you want to keep the heat)

Scoop approximately 1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter (or enough to fill generously) into EACH Jalapeno

Fill baking dish with all Jalapenos, then

Pour the water in the dish

Bake @ 400 Degrees for 20-30 minutes or until the Jalapenos look cooked to your liking. (You want them to change from their natural shade of dark green to a lighter green similar to the shade in the image above).
